I hope this week gave everyone enough time to catch up with my previous entry... I know it was pretty long.. sorry!  Its just that I had been so behind b/c of a lack of internet access.  But here we go.. time to continue...

first of all.. I wanted to say...

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR EVERYONES BEAUTIFUL MSGS, EMAILS, PHONE CALLS, PRESENTS .... EVERYTHNG!!!!  I TRULY APPRECIATED EVERYTHING!!  LOVE YOU!!  MUAH!

alright.. time to continue where I left off.....

FRIDAY, FEB. 2:  I arrived at Borami's super late!!  I think I arrived at her apt. between 10pm and 10:30pm.  I was in the shuttle for almost 2 hrs, I think.  My goodness!!!  Turns out that I was in the wrong van, can you believe it?  bad luck for mireya!  Oh well, at least I made it.

Arriving, I was exhausted, with mixed feelings, and feeling super dirty!  Borami and I chatted it up for a bit, I showered, we talked some more, and went to bed.  I got a good 7 hrs, I think... woke up... and we got ready to head out in NY.  YAY!!!

SATURDAY:  OMG, it was freezing!!!!  It was sooo cold heading out of her apt.!  I seriously felt like I was in the snow!  But I was in the city! not the mountains!  how was that possible?!  Anyways, we walked to Cafe Lalo... the coffee shop where Meg Ryan was supposed to meet her blind date, Tom Cruise, in the movie You've Got Mail.  Cute shop.  I had a really good baked egg platter with tomatoes, green & red bell peppers, onions, and I don't remember what else on top.. but it was delicious!!

We then walked down Columbus Ave., looking in the shops/avoiding the cold.    Walked past her school building, through Central Park (including seeing the iceskating ring), towards 5th Ave., into Tiffany's (hah!)  Sweet Home Alabama memories, then off to Rockefeller Center, and last but not least, Times Square.

NY con chicle 2-3-07 (4) NY con chicle 2-3-07 (8)

We took the metro back to her neighborhood, then went to get a cupcake.  OMG!  Sooooo good!!!  Delicious cupcakes!!  YUMMY!!!  Got some starbucks (Cinnamon Dolce Latte... YAY!  Its back!  super excited!!  )  Walked a little more.. then headed back to her apt.  We defrosted while watching You've Got Mail.  I had never seen it!.. but wow, I appreciated it soooo much after walking around her neighborhood.

For dinner, we had a Gray's Papaya hot dog.  I've been craving that hot dog ever since I saw Fools Rush In, idk when.  And what are the odds that borami lives less than 5 min. walking distance from there.  awesome!!  And of course, we could not end the night w/out a NY pizza.  woohoo!!!  I was stuffed after!

I had to get up super early sunday morning.  The shuttle was picking me up at 5, therefore I needed to be up by 4:30.  So we called it an early night... layed down by 11, and were asleep by 12 or 1... I don't remember.

It was great seeing her!  Thanks chicle for letting me stay!!  love you!   MUAH!!!

SUNDAY:  Borami had changed my pick up time from 5 to 5:30... but the guy was super early!!  I had got up at 5 to get ready.. but he was there by 5:15.  Turns out that guy was early for everyone!  The next crowd we picked up, he was there 30 min. early for them.. therefore they took forever to get out!  Arriving at the airport, I had no problems whatsoever!  Borami had pre-confirmed my flight before arriving, therefore I just needed to print my boarding pass.  What a great invention!  Loved that!!  I checked in my luggage.. it was 5 lbs too heavy.. oops!  So I had to take out 2 lbs, and he let me slide w/ the rest.  I put those 2 jeans in my carry on.. no biggie.  I then went through security, bought myself a bagel and coffee at dunkin donuts... and waited.

My flight ran smoothly from NY to LB.  It was just long.. and I was still sick of airplanes from my previous flights from friday...but I made it.    I didn't sleep at all, so I was kind of tired and my mom had the entire day booked, but whatever.

I got home around 12:30, CA time.  I showered and talked to Carlos.  Dang I miss him!!!    Its incredible how I was JUST there, and now I'm half way across the world again.

Later on in the afternoon, we headed to torrance where I was able to see the family.  It was nice to see them again... everyone was happy to see me, which is nice.  But I couldn't help but have mixed feelings about me being back.  I wish he was here.

In the evening, we headed to Hawthorne b/c we needed to pick up eddie from my uncle's house over there.  He had spent the night there the night before.  We ended up leaving their house extremely late!  I fell asleep on their couch sitting up around 9:30 or so.. I couldn't hold it anymore!  I really wanted to just go in the van and sleep.. but I felt rude.  And there I go, falling asleep as I sat on their couch.. oops!  oh well.  I think we left their house a little after 11... so we didn't arrive at my house until 11:30 or so.  Gosh I was tired!!

MONDAY-FRIDAY:

I spent most of the week unpacking, catching up with ppl... etc.  Monday afternoon, Cheena came to my house after student teaching, which was nice.  We had the chance to catch up.  I missed that girl!

Wednesday, I worked at Lafayette Elementary School which is where I used to go to school from K-4.  awww... memories!!!  It was great to see the school again... including passing by my old kindergarten class.  eek!  How time flies.

Friday was my BIRTHDAY!!  WOOHOO!!!    I went to eat a late lunch/early dinner with my mom, brothers, and madrina lupe.  We went to bj's which was nice.. I was craving it.  hah!

SATURDAY:  The early part of the day was chill.  Talked to my cutie in the morning, did stuff around the house in the early afternoon.. and then picked up sarorth from her house at 4:30.  We headed to Pasadena where we ate sushi at a restaurant called Ishima.  It was yummy!!!  loved it!  Then we had coffee at Its a Grind close to Lakewood Mall.  Good times catching up... glad to see her!!  I then dropped her off close to 10, made it home, .. and Cheena picked me up a little after 10.  We headed over to The Pike where we watched Because I Said So.  I hadn't seen any previews and I had no idea what it was about.  I've been gone for a month, so I've been sort of out of the loop.  It was a cute movie though.  Very much a chick flick!

SUNDAY:  Went to torrance where we celebrated my bday and my tia lourdes' bday.  It was nice seeing the family again.  I ate tamales, rice, beans, and tons of cupcakes.  woohoo!!!

MONDAY:  TODAY:

HAPPY HALF BIRTHDAY CHULO!!!!  Today he's 23 1/2... very important!    Wishing you the very best!!  you know that!

I haven't gone anywhere today.  LB is on vacation b/c its a holiday today.  So I did tons of stuff around the house.  Laundry, cooking, cleaning up my room a bit, taking are of pinguino, etc.  And of course I talked to my cutie for a while...   I've had the house to myself since a little before 9am... awww... this is true relaxation!

I wonder if I'll work tomorrow?   hmmm

postponing... in denial

I've sort of been in denial.. and have been trying to avoid typing on this... b/c this just makes it even more official that I'm home.    Don't get me wrong, in a way, I'm happy to be home.  I'm happy to see my family and all of my friends again, but its just sort of depressing coming back and going back to the routine of constant emails, msn conversations, short phone calls, and having to plan our schedules around the 9-hour difference.

Anyways... so what did I do my last days in spain:

TUESDAY NIGHT:

I ended up not making spaghetti as was originally planned.  Instead, we went out to eat dinner at El Wok.  What a delicious asian restaurant!  We ate a sampler which had a bunch of things... like egg rolls, a wanton, and I don't remember what else.  We then also ate a dish with noodles and some chicken.. some sort of japanese fusion.. it was delicious!!

For dessert.. we ate some Marscapone ice cream... yummy!!  I had arroz con leche and flan de caramelo... and Carlos had chocolate fondant and frutas del bosque.  YUMMY!!

WEDNESDAY:  Carlos didn't work in the afternoon.. so it was a day of hanging out together.  :)

I cooked for him again.  I made him some chicken, with potatoes, and onions.. seasoned with some chicken seasoning that I had taken.  Then we relaxed at his apt., waiting for his parents to arrive.  His parents drove out to Sevilla to say bye to me.. super sweet!!

Once they arrived, we headed to the center of town.  We walked to the cathedral, then headed to a coffee shop.  We were there for a while.. talking..etc.  Then we headed to the shops.  We walked in and out of some, did some window shopping.. but I came out with nothing, nothing fit anymore in my suitcase.  oops!  :)

We then headed back to his apt, where my mom talked to his mom on the phone for a bit... then I had to say bye to the parents.  That was tough.  They've been soooo nice to me... I got watery eyes while doing it.

For dinner, Carlos and I went to TGIFridays.  He had never been, therefore it was an experience for him.  Our meal was DELICIOUS!  We shared a chicken chimichanga, some sesame seed chicken battered in some japanese sauce, and for dessert we each had an oreo cookie, ice cream sandiwich... with chocolate and caramel syrup on it.  YUMMY!!   Its making me hungry just typing this.  hah!

THURSDAY:  What a horrible day to wake up on.  I was sad an depressed the whole morning.  Finishing up all my packing, and making sure everything was in order.  For the afternoon, I decided to meet up with Carlos at his work... to see him right after he got out at 3pm.  After work, we headed to eat lunch at Wok.  Not "El Wok" like tuesday night... this "Wok" is an asian buffet.  It was good!!  It was 10euro per person.. and we had sooo much food!!  Fried rice, noodles, soup, egg rolls, wantons, dumplings, sushi, sashimi, rolls, and a stir fry where we had the chance to decide what to put on it, even the sauce.. it was good!!  For dessert we had lemon ice cream and flan.

After being bloated and full, we headed to Plaza de España... where we had originally met on June 1st, 2006.  Our first day of the summer.. our last day of my winter trip.  We walked around... listened to the obnoxious american girls... and sat on the bench where we originally sat back in the summer.  What a beautiful plaza!

We headed back to his apt. afterwards since it was freezing!!  We watched some TV, then headed to dinner pretty early.  We arrived at the Japanese restaurant, Samurai, around 9pm.  We ordered the usual... our menu and the CA roll.  I wasn't very hungry due to the stress of me leaving... and being sort of depressed about me leaving.  But it was a good dinner.. and we got good parking! which was exciting.  haha..

Thursday night was depressing... it was last hangout with Carlos.

FRIDAY:  Ok, this morning was worse to wake up to.  We left his apt. by 6:30am., and arrived at the sevilla airport around 7am.  My flight left at 8:55am.. and supposedly the boarding time started at 8:25.. but they were going crazy wanting everyone on really early.  Therefore our goodbye was earlier than we would have liked/hoped.  Leaving was soooo hard!

My first flight from sevilla to valencia, and then valencia to madrid... both went fine... I was just a mess!  In madrid, my suitcase took forever to came out!  I almost had to claim it lost again.  I was stressing!  But I'm just glad it finally arrived.

I then had to change terminals.. and again, my flight from madrid to NY went well.  No one sat next to me, so it was nice.  That flight was a crappy airplane, but the good thing is that I had my own 2-seated row... and the service was great!

Arriving in NY was good.  Finally done with airplanes for a day, at least.  They took my chorizo that was sent by his family.. crap it!  Went out, called Super Shuttle, and got on the shuttle.  I guess the wrong guy picked me up.. so I was the last one to be dropped off.  I finally arrived at borami's apt. by 10:00pm or so.  It was GREAT to see her again!!  Especially after my depressing day.

....

Stay tuned for whats happened since.  This has turned out to be a long xanga.  hah!

Tuesday, January 30, 2007

Last night, we did just as planned.  We went back to his place, he went for a jog, and we later ordered pizza.  We ordered from Pizza Hut.  hah!  We got a pepperoni and piña pan pizza.  I know I know, we have that in the states, but I wanted to taste if there was any difference.  There wasn´t.. BUT... it was soo good!!!  I missed delicious american pizza!  YUMMMMM!!!!

After dinner, I made some popcorn, with limón and tapatio... woo!!  haha!  (carlos loves saying that.. "limón and tapatio").. and we watched Cars.  What a great movie... love it!  super cute!

TUESDAY:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHEENA!!!!  MISS YOU GIRL!  I HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT BDAY TODAY, AND THAT YOU´RE ENJOYING YOUR FIRST DAYS OF STUDENT TEACHING!  CAN´T WAIT TO HEAR HOW THEY´RE GOING!

Today is the last and final day of me coming to his office in the afternoon.. therefore I don´t know if I´ll be able to check emails, myspace, or xanga again before I arrive back in CA.  If anything, I might have a chance to do something quick at borami´s, but thats pretty much it.  If you need anything from now until then, then text me by thurs. night my time.  :)

Idk what we´ll be doing today post-work.  I wanted to go to la plaza de españa, but its raining again today.  I don´t think its raining right now, but its really gloomy and wet outside, so idk if that would be a good idea.  Therefore, I have no clue.  For dinner I might make spaghetti again, since we still have some leftover pasta.. I just need to get some tomato and tomato sauce.

Can´t believe how fast the days are passing by.  Soo happy I extended my trip, but its still crazy that it doesn´t feel like I´ve been here for as long as I did.

sooooo....

If you don´t hear from me until the weekend, then I wish everyone a very great week!!  pray for me, so that I have a safe flight to NY on fri. and on sun. to CA.  and pray that things aren´t so hard.  The positive and great thing is.. that I know when I´ll be seeing him again.  Not like last time when I said goodbye without knowing when we´d be able to be together again.

Miss you all!  and i´ll see you all soon!!

My bday is next fri., any suggestions?  ideas??  slumber?  dinner/bar??  hmm.  I´m going to need a lift-me-up after this friday...

btw.. do you girls prefer hanging out fri. feb. 9th? or the fri. after that?  let me know what suits you best.

it´s been a while

So its been a while since I last had the chance to go online and type on this thing.. there´s quite a bit to say.

WEDNESDAY continuation:  This was a Betis night!  woohoo!!!  First of all, the seat thing worked out.  The brother was willing to go to my seat if necessary, but luckily, he was able to sit right next to us due to an empty seat.  yay!

The game was amazing!!!  Watching them play against barcelona was awesome!!  Betis was the first to score a goal.. ppl went CRAZY!!  (and so did I).. hah!  I recorded a small video, and had to try to restrain myself from jumping up and down.. I did a bit.. but not much.

The mexican player from barcelona ended up making a goal against el betis, so in the end, the score was 1-1.  They tied!  I must have some power!!  I witnessed them play against both Real Madrid AND Barcelona, and even though they didn´t necessarily win the games, they ended up kicking Real Madrid out of the running for the Copa del Rey, and with Barcelona, they didn´t lose.  woo!!

THURSDAY:  We ended up going to Nervion Plaza again, since I needed to return something from Zara.  We walked around a bit, then headed to Santa Justa Train Station.  Why??  Because I ended up meeting up with Kristin, my roommate from El Puerto.  It was great seeing her again!  We met up with her and ate some tapas at a bar close to her apt.  Pretty good.. pretty good.

I give her so much credit.  I´m amazed at how strong she is.  I don´t know how I would react, I don´t even want to think about how I would react, if something were to happen to Carlos.

idk if I wrote this in my xanga, but in december, her bf passed away.  He had epilepsy, and in december suffered from an epileptic seizure and later a heart attack which did not have positive results.  He passed away at the age of 24 or 25, I believe.  He was a great guy.  I had met him and interacted with him a bit at the summer camp.  He was a great person for kristin.  Whenever he was mentioned in our conversation, tears came to her eyes.  Its so sad!

Anyways, it was great seeing her again!  She´s in sevilla right now working teaching english, and studying spanish.  I´m very proud of her b/c idk if I could do what she does, especially after the circumstances.

FRIDAY:  Headed back to chipiona.  We ended up going to his cousin, David´s house where we were supposed to help him translate some scholarship thing, but he ended up not having it ready.  We ate dinner with the parents, and later started watching Borat, which he had downloaded from the internet before I got here.  We were only able to watch the first half though, since we were both exhausted!

SATURDAY:  We were supposed to go to Gibraltar, BUT, it was pouring!!  This weekend has been raining.. sucked!  oh well.  We ended up hanging out at his house, and later going to his aunt´s house where we looked up some stuff on the internet concerning my luggage weight.  Turns out I have too much, and wasn´t able to take some stuff the family gave me, so they´ll be mailing it later.

So saturday was spent doing last minute things in his town and making sure all my luggage stuff was taken care of.  We also finished up his cousin´s scholarship, so we were able to get that out of the way.

We ate dinner at Shanghai again, last time before I come back to spain.  LOVE that place!!  And then we watched Babel in El Puerto.. with the yummy candy again!

SUNDAY:  Sunday was a say "goodbye" day.  We went around to the different homes, and I said bye to all of the relatives.  Sort of sad, but I still had a little over 4 days here, so I wasn´t really thinking about it.  I have to try not to get too depressed yet, especially since I was originally only going to be here for 2.5 weeks.  I´m blessed to have had the ability to extend my stay, and I have to be thankful for that.

I watched el betis play again.. but this time against valencia.  We saw the game on the tv, which was fine since it was raining outside.  They ended up winning!!  And Valencia is another very good team from spain.. woohoo!!!  Wow, my power was at work again!

MONDAY:  Today is an office day.  He is supposed to work 2 afternoons, therefore this week, he´ll be working today and tomorrow.. so I´ll be online tomorrow again.  BUT, after tomorrow, idk when I´ll be able to xanga or check my email again.  Therefore if there is anything important to tell me, you´ll need to text me.  And remember that I´ll be in NY by friday night.  Well, I arrive in NY at 7:10pm, therefore 4:10pm. CA time.  Idk how long I´ll be able to have my phone on, since I didn´t bring my charger.. but we´ll see,  I´ll have it on as much as I can.

Great news from today:

CARLOS IS.....  GOING GOING BACK BACK TO CALI CALI!!!

CARLOS BOOKED HIS FLIGHT!!!!  He´ll be arriving June 21st and coming back July 6th.  Thats not too much time, but I´m already excited about planning stuff to do for while he´s there.  (Cheena, can you hook me up with aquarium tickets?)

Tonight, I have no idea what we´ll be doing.  Maybe we´ll call it a chill night and watch Cars.. the first movie we ever watched together.  aww..

Definition of my Carlos

"SOME OF THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FOR FREE"

Find a guy, who calls you beautiful instead of hot.

Who calls you back when you hang up on him.

Who will stay awake just to watch you sleep.

Wait for the guy who kisses your forehead.

Who wants to show you off to the world when you are in your sweats.

Who holds your hand in front of his friends.

Wait for the one who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares about you and how lucky he is to have you.

Wait for the one who turns to his friends and says, "...that's her."
